After the great success of our first Apple Arcade special edition title Alto’s Odyssey — Remastered in July of 2021 it was apparent there was great demand for our team to bring Alto’s Adventure to the platform in a similar way. Embarking on the development process in earnest in September of 2021, we were able to leverage many of the tools, systems, platform integration work and design concepts we had established during the development of our previous release.

With our strong understanding of the unique qualities of Apple Arcade as a platform by this point, our team was able to hire and onboard new key programming team members, as well as focus on further formalising and optimising our toolset in relation to all of our Alto projects during the development of this title, ultimately releasing in March of 2022.

As with our previous title, my duties largely focused around the scoping, budgeting and production planning of the project, assisting with the design of key content and systems, as well as management of testing, localisation and project release. During this project was able to further turn my attention to the formalisation of internal QA resources, leading to a significantly smoother release and post-release period for this project and the establishment of a proficient QA department that has since proven to be the backbone of our continued support of all Alto titles.
